2020 Chardonnay-Viognier, Limited Release

66% Chardonnay, 34% Viognier

A bright and rich wine offering a plethora of fruit characters. Initially the wine shows some pineapple, apple, pear, banana and apricot which is then engulfed with some creamy vanilla notes and bright lemon. Along with the fruits are some fresh notes of cut grass and honeysuckle giving the wine a lovely floral essence. The minerality of the wine is nicely paired with the fruits. The finish is long and bright with the lemon and tropical notes showing well.

2015 Tannat Limited Release
2015 Tannat Limited Release

75% Tannat, 25% Petit Verdot

A big sumptuous wine with a deep rich color and laden with ripe berries, cherry and a hint  of some dried fruits.  Beside the fruit aspect there is a wonderful cocoa and cinnamon spice nuance that play well together.  A little bit of vanilla comes through along with a touch of tea and cola.  The tannins and oak are well suited to the weight of the  wine and aid in the overall balance and intensity.  The wine has a nice bright aspect on the pallet that turns to a rich creamy finish.  This wine will age very well.

2017 Limited Release Cabernet Sauvignon
2017 Limited Release Cabernet Sauvignon

86% Cabernet Sauvignon, 14% Tannat

This wine provides a delightful blend of both fresh red fruit and dried dark fruits with a mix of green and black olives.  A very juicy wine with layers of cocoa and cream. The fruit is complemented with a graphite minerality from the French oak along with a classic earthy character. A well-rounded wine with exquisite tannins that are well balanced.  The oak is strong but does not overpower the other elements, yet rather enhances them.  The finish is strong and elegant and lasts quite a while.  This wine will age extremely well with untapped potential.  It drinks well now but I would recommend a decanter.  I have been waiting for this wine to be in bottle since the harvest of 2017.  Enjoy!

2017 Limited Release Merlot

100% Merlot

A very well-structured Merlot offering a host of fresh red berries and some dark cherry. Along with the fruit are nice vanilla and cocoa notes that pair well with the spice of cardamom and clove. The spice notes gives way to a pleasant herbal, almost fresh flower aspect. Just next to the jammy fruit is a soft earthiness of truffles and black olives and a hint of black pepper. The oak is very nicely balanced within the wine and holds up to the big but approachable tannins. Overall a well-balanced wine with many complexities and layers. This reminds me of a contemporary ambrosia salad. I am really enjoying this Merlot now and look forward to seeing how well it will age.

2017 XVII, Limited Release
2017 XVII, Limited Release

50% Petit Verdot, 50% Merlot

A lovely blend of figs, dates and prunes mingled with fresh blackberries, dark cherries,  strawberry, raspberry and blueberry.  All these fruits appear to be covered in a rich layer of dark chocolate.  Along with the myriad of fruits on display is a symphony of earthy notes of truffles, mushrooms, olives, a touch of old suede and a dash of pepper.   The finish is long, bright and inviting with the oak and tannins in complete balance.  This wine should age well for the next few years.

2019 Limited Release Cabernet Sauvignon

100% Cabernet Sauvignon

An elegant Cabernet Sauvignon with a nice balance between the red and dark fruits; think mixed berry pie. The fruit notes are seamlessly integrated with the earthy characters of mushrooms, olives and terra cotta. Additionally, there are some lovely floral aspects that add a nice layer with the fruit. The finish is fruit forward with elements of brightness and cocoa. The oak is flawlessly integrated with the other layers of the wine making for a wonderful balance. The tannins are big yet quite approachable and complement the overall structure of the wine. This Cabernet Sauvignon should pair well with many different foods.

2019 M.P.T. Limited Release

41% Merlot, 39% Petit Verdot, 20% Tannat

For the first MPT I am very pleased with the results.  This wine is showcasing some lovely black cherry, blueberry, strawberry, rhubarb, and black figs.  The fruit elements are well paired with the earthy forest floor along with some cedar box which then flows into some cinnamon and sweet spice. There is also just a touch of cocoa and cola as well as a floral note.  All these layers are well integrated with the oak nuances which also give some graphite and vanilla.  The finish is fruit forward and lengthy with some firm yet approachable tannins.
